And the work begins

All classes have officially begun and I can already tell they are going to be challenging, but in a good way!

Two classes are taught by Mercyhurst professors at our own college classrooms in Dungarvan. (It's going to be a far walk there in the Ireland rainy weather!)

Ethics in a Cross-Cultural Context
This may possibly be one the most interesting classes I will ever take! Dr. McFee has us looking at ethical issues and how they differ across different cultures

Irish Literature
Dr. Reed's class studies famous Irish Literature. It is only a four week class, so we have already jumped right into the material. Next week I need to prepare a presentation on Irish mythology and at the end of the term we each need to memorize and read 20 lines of poetry. I usually hate literature, but just that fact that this is Irish makes me already interested!

Irish Language and Culture
This class is taught at Waterford Institute of Technology which means we are all officially students there (ID card and everything). Today was our first visit to the campus so we had a little orientation to get acquainted with the University. The class will be focusing on learning Gaelic (or as they call it here, "Irish") as well as the culture in Ireland. I've always wanted to learn Gaelic, but it seems very difficult. By the end of the term we will  have to write an entire essay in Gaelic and take an oral exam.... wish me luck!

Slán!
